Yes I have fallen in the ultimate tourist trap, a ferry to the islands.
Don't get me wrong this is beyond the definition of paradise with waterfalls and beautiful beaches everywhere, however there are a lot of things that I don't agree here with like the way the tourists push the drug trade since not too many Thai people do drugs, prostitution, animal abuse to Tigers, Bears and Elephants (however a lot of them get literally get fucked by their own disrespectful actions by getting wasted and then hiring the 3 prettiest "ladyboys" that their beer goggles and their wallet can afford them).
I
thought I came here to study and learn about the peoples of Southeast Asia, but the party cultures of the white people here suggest the need for a serious study.. I might start it at the half moon party tomorrow and leave it for somebody else to continue it the day after. Maybe someday I'll start the "wikistudy".

Did you say that not many Thai people abuse tigers and elephants? I'm not really getting what you're saying... except that there are white people (like the Swedish guy) who talks down about asian women... what about the animal abuses? Te quiero, Ro. Tomo nota de que estas enojado, pero no intiendo muy bien porque... es la falta de los blancos que los animales estan abusados? Por supuesto que hay "rampid prostitution" alli- es una gran industria y la razon que mucha gente viajan a Tailandia... Por favor cuida a los animales- son victimas inocentes.

No Marie, what I am saying is that if it were not for the tourist that come here and want to have a very shallow experience of an extremely deep culture those tigers elephants and bears would not be part of their circus of a vacation.
And of course the reason for the rampant prostitution is also because tourists from all over the world like the thrill of an underage sex experience. In any case to restate my thoughts,it is the ignorance of the tourist coupled with years or racism and Orientalism towards Asians that dillapidate a little bit of the vast beauty of what has to be one of the most amazing countries in the planet.
